University Requirements

Notes

  1. All students admitted to a University of Delaware undergraduate degree program in Fall 2010 or later are required to complete University breadth requirements.
  2. Up to 3 credits from each of the University Breadth Requirement categories may be used to simultaneously satisfy the College of Arts and Sciences Breadth Requirements.  More info

College of Arts and Sciences Requirements

  • Writing (minimum grade of C-), 3 credit hours
    A second writing course involving significant writing experience which is submitted for extended faculty critique. Course must be taken after student has completed 60 credit hours.
  • Foreign Language, 0-12 credit hours
    Completion of the intermediate course (107 or 112 or 214) in a given language. The number of courses taken depends on previous language experience or a language placement exam.
  • Breadth Requirements, 21 credit hours
    A total of 21 credits from Group A, Group B, and Group C is required with a minimum of six credits in each group.
