Teaching
The UD Associate in Arts Program is a two year, 60 credit program of basic core courses, which may ultimately lead to the Bachelor of Arts degree. The Dover campus is not really geared for Biology majors in the College of Arts and Sciences; thus I have tried to build a good Biology foundation in non-majors. Since I teach both labs and lecture, I feel that one of my successes has been to have a close correlation between the two where one complements the other. I am also Faculty Coordinator for the Dover Campus and I am involved with the Milford Professional Development School, a teacher training program developed between UD School of Education and the Milford, DE School District.
Courses taught on a yearly basis:
- BISC 103 - Principles of Biology
- BISC 104 - Principles of Biology with Laboratory
- BISC 106 - Elementary Human Physiology
- BISC 107 - Elementary Evolutionary Ecology
- BISC 117 - Elementary Evolutionary Ecology Laboratory
- SCEN 340 - Advanced Science for Teachers (Part 1 and Part 2)
Research Interests
- Ecological distribution of Blephilia ciliata, Blephilia hirsuta and their putative hybrid Blephilia subnuda
- Invertebrate populations of the "Carolina Bays" of Delmarva
- Annotation of floristic and vegetation publications of Delmarva 1524-present
