Why UD Biology?
Students in any of our Biology majors can be involved in all of our Departmental courses and activities.
Full-time faculty teach 90% of our classes. In the class labs, including our upper level 12-16 student experimental lab courses, you will work in the state-of-the-art UD Integrated Science and Learning Labs to design and run original experiments, analyze data and communicate their results.
Are you interested in research? You can work in the research laboratories of core or affiliated faculty, and can apply for summer research financial support from Departmental and University fellowships. You can opt to complete a thesis to earn a Degree with Distinction or Honors Degree with Distinction, and present your original research at scientific meetings. Our students are recognized each year for their excellence in academics and research, and their community impact.
Are you thinking of a career in medicine, dentistry, pharmacy or biotechnology? How about teaching, research sales, or scientific writing? Learn what some of our alumni are doing now.
